Costume Check List
Please be sure
to check it out.
Any Questions see Kathy.
BE SURE ALL COSTUMES AND ACCESARRY’S ARE LABELED WITH STUDENT’S
NAME AND ALL TAGS ARE REMOVED.
Remember the stage lights can wash your skin color out so stage make up is greatly suggested but is
totally dancer’s/parent’s choice. Each dancer does their own make up. Any questions please ask.
Outfits for the Grand
Finale
Everyone wears this year’s recital theme tee shirt. If you didn’t order a tee shirt
you may wear a plan white colored tee shirt instead. On the bottom all wear Jean shorts or Jean pants.
All can go barefoot or
wear sneakers or dance shoes. Please no sandals or street shoes. (Please
be sure if you are wearing sneakers that they have dry
clean soles, thank you.) Socks are optional.

Janitor #: All have jean overalls. Everybody must hem the overalls so that the hem measures
8” below the center of their knee. If you need help with this see Angel or Krista. The zipper front on the overalls
should be worn slightly unzipped. Unzip 1 ½” tops. Just enough so the collar folds over nicely. POSITIVLY no
under garments of any kind should show. No tights will be worn. All need to wear white ankle socks. The kind that fold over
on the ankle. All must wear black Hip Hop sneakers. Hair is
your choice but hair must neatly be pulled off face and everyone must wear costume bandanna any way that they prefer but be
sure it will not fall off when dancing. Absoulutly no jewlry to be worn.

Monday Studio 2
3:45 (Tap 1)
4:30 (Hip Hop 1 Pre Teens)
All have a white tank style leotard. Under leotard dancers can wear a nude or white bra or if desire a nude camisole
leotard. Be sure all under garments chosen don’t show. Over the leotard all wear a short black sequin jacket. Everybody
needs to sew a piece of ¼” white elastic 3” to 4” long to the jacket. This elastic should be attached
at the center front of the jacket on both sides. The purpose of the elastic is to allow the jacket to be worn open but not
move around while dancing. The elastic should blend in to the white leotard and be unnoticeable. Need help
or have a question? See Angel or Krista and they will assist you. All dancers have a black plastic flocked hat. Be careful.
These hats crack and rip very easy. They also will melt in high heat so keep out of the sun or near a heater. Put your hats
away in a save place and keep to use at the show only. If your hat already has a rip, tape it together from the inside so
it won’t get worse. I think black electrical tape would work the best. Everybody received a sequin material tie with
their costume. Tie this around your hat. The knot should be in the back. Tie it secure and cut off any extra material. Don’t
cut off to short. Be sure it can be retired in case it slips undone. All wear black hip hop shoes.
Still
waiting on more parts to the costume. Once all has come in we will finish up what else is needed, how to wear hair.
5:30
(Adult Tap Beginner/Intermediate)
All have a one piece dance outfit and included with it are Go Go boot covers and 2 arm bands and
a matching costume hair tie. Under costume dancers can wear a nude bra or if desired a nude camisole. Be sure all under garments
chosen don’t show. (Thin nude bra straps are ok showing if needed.) Everybody needs to sew the fringe on the costume
that is not yet attached. It should be sewn to lie on the seam on the costume across the back. Over lap the fringe slightly
to meet the fringe already attached. Then cut off the extra. Don’t sew the fringe on to tight. Remember the costume
needs to stretch to get it on your body. Your Go Go boot covers are worn over your tap shoes and pulled up above your knees.
In class test your boots and be sure they don’t interfere with your taps. The 2 arm bands are worn on your upper arms
on your muscle. Alter to fit if needed. Be sure they won’t fall down. Everybody needs to wear Revolution dark tan tights.
Emmalina get what color you personally need. Everyone will wear their hair down using the costume
hair tie as a hair band tying it underneath your hair. Be sure it is secure and won’t fall out when you are dancing.
Also Angel would like if all wore large hoop dangle earrings.

GIRLS: Everyone has a beautiful costume dress. I think most dresses were fine but I know Lillian’s dress was a little big on
her chest area making the dress to loose under her arms. To alter this, the best way is shorten the 3 straps on the back of
the dress. Need help or have a question don’t hesitate to ask. Everyone must wear Revolution classic pink
footed tights and jazz shoes. Dancers do not wear underwear. All dancers’ hair style is their choice. I prefer it to
be worn down but hair must be neatly off face. The red feather costume hair accessory must be included in
the choosing of hair style. The hair accessory can be worn as desired also but it must be secure so it positively can not
fall out of hair when dancing.
JACK: Jack wears his black jazz pants and his costume shirt that matches
the girl’s costume. He wears black jazz shoes. He can wear black socks if he prefers or no socks.
4:30
(Tumbling 3-4)
Everyone has costume pants and top. The costume top might need to be altered on some of you. It is an easy adjustment
if needed. The shoulder seam may need to be taken in so the shoulder straps don’t fall off your shoulders while tumbling
or so the dancer’s neckline is not to low. The straps that do fall off the shoulders should be fine for most. They are
sup post to hang down loosely but if you feel they are really too loose you may take another seam in them to fit as you may
prefer. If anybody needs help altering their costume please just ask myself or Krista. We can help you. Students can wear
under garments as they desire but all under garments must not show, so choose accordingly. Tights will
not be worn. All will tumble barefoot. All the dancers can not wear hair down. You may put hair in 1 or more ponytails or
braids. Anything goes as long as it is pulled up and pulled back neatly off face. The costume hair accessory must be worn
by all but it may be worn anyway you choose. You may wear it tied around your ponytail. You can cut it
and make 2. You can wear it has a headband or hair band. It is you’re choice but however you decide to wear it, it
must be secure in hair & positively won't fall out.
HAIR WIG:
Some of
you purchased the hair wig. This is not worn during your tumbling dance. This is worn only during the finale section of the
overall Black & White section that your tumbling dance is in. The wig will be needed to be put on quickly so be sure you
choose a hair style to tumble in that you will be ready to apply your wig easily. Practice this before hand. All hair under
the wig should not show. I suggest using a hair net, this will simplify things. The wig must be bobby pined securely in place
once it is on. Moms won’t be able to help. You will be in the audience watching. Dancers must be able
to do this alone but back stage help will be able to assist. Questions see Kathy.
